Jamaica goes 1 – 2 – 3 in the Women’s 100M in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Well actually 1 – 2 – 2. Jamaica swept the 100M as Shelly-Ann Fraser grabbed gold by leaving the competition in the proverbial dust. Kerron Stewart and Sherone Simpson tied for second to take home 2 additional silver medals to Jamaica.
Jamaica sets a historical first by recording the first ever sweep of its kind in Olympic track.
Shelly-Ann Fraser ran 10.78. Kerron Stewart and Sherone Simpson ran 10.98.

Usain Bolt takes home Jamaica’s first Gold Medal in the Olympics. He also beat the world record he set for fastest man in the 100M of 9.72, by running 9.69.
15 meters before the end of the race, Jamaica’s homegrown Lightning Bolt had already begun celebrating his victory. Imagine his time had he run full speed the entire race? Bolt decelerated and was still able to dominate the finals.
I’m looking forward to the 200M. Hopefully, Bolt can take home a second Gold Medal.
Big up to Trinidad and Tobago’s Richard Thompson who placed second with a 9.89. That’s 1 & 2 for the Caribbean in the 100M.
And of course Much Respect to Usain Bolt!

Coulda 1 of Dem… Coulda 2 a Dem… Coulda 3 a Dem…
The Jamaican Men’s track team sends three to the 100M finals in the Olympics.
Big Up to:
1) Usain Bolt
2) Asafa Powell
3) Michael Frater

Tyson Gay made a strong showing, and it’s sad to see him not make it to the finals. Much respect to Tyson for his humility, though. He could have blamed it on his hamstring, but didn’t. He simply said today was not his day and he gave it 100%. A definite star in my book.

I’m not the type to discuss politics, and this is in no way my showing off any political allegence. But, when a reggae artist releases such a passionate song, I just can’t hold back from sharing.
I mean can you go wrong with lyrics like:
“It is is not Chuck Norris — OBAMA!”
“And I know it’s not John Wayne — OBAMA!”
“It is not the one Rambo — OBAMA!”
“And it is not the Terminator — OBAMA!”
“But a di new trend setter — OBAMA!”
